Anthony Thomas Castelli, age 88 of New City passed away on April 19, 2014 peacefully in his home surrounded by the love of his family. He was born on July 24, 1926 in Manhattan, NY. He was son of the late Francesco and Margaret Castelli. He was happily married to the late Florence Castelli. He is survived by his sister Jean Bynum of Decatur, GA, his sons Frank and wife Sheila, Joseph and wife Lauren, 5 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Known as Tom who was an accomplished man, served in WWII and the Korean War with the Navy. He was also an electrical engineer, architect, teacher and the director of Boces in Rockland. Tom had a true passion for his students, church, country and especially his family.
Family will receive visitors at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian burial will take place Thursday 10am at St. Paul’s Church. Interment will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to St. Paul’s Church in Congers, NY.
