

Clifford A. Tallman, of Nanuet, NY, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on March 23, 2012. Cliff was born on October 20, 1943 to Clifford S. and L. Pauline Tallman. Clifford served honorably in the U.S. Air Force and had a great love for his country. He then went on to spend nearly 30 years serving Rockland County law enforcement, retiring as Police Chief of Spring Valley before spending several years as the Director of the County Narcotics Task Force. Since retiring from Law Enforcement in 1995, Cliff has been actively engaged in his 2 passions; as both an assistant and head football coach with several Rockland County high schools, Cliff was able to give back to so many though a sport he truly loved. He also found his true passion in powerlifting; a seven-time national and three-time world champion Masters level powerlifter, Cliff truly left his mark on the sport and all those around him.
Cliff was a devoted and loving father and grandfather whose greatest joys came from his family. Cliff is survived by his children, Christiane Buhlmann and her husband Michael of Nanuet, NY and Brian Tallman and his wife Renee of Morris Plains, NJ. He will be greatly missed by his four grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Vincent and Samantha, as well as many cousins.
The family will receive friends on Monday, March 26th and Tuesday, March 27th, from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. A religious service will be held on Wednesday, March 28th at 10am at the funeral home. Burial to follow at St. Paul's Highview Cemetery, Nanuet, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his memory to United Hospice of Rockland, 11 Stokum Lane, New City, NY 10956.
