Deborah Alice Quinn (nee Burke) died peacefully at the age of 57 in Valley Cottage, NY on May 2, 2012 surrounded by family at the home of her parents. She was born on September 11, 1954 in Bronx, NY and was a Rockland County resident since childhood. Debbie graduated from Rosary Academy High School and got her nursing degree at RCC. Debbie died much too early but throughout her life touched the lives of many. She was a geriatric nurse who cared lovingly for each of her patients and her co-workers enjoyed having Deb on their team. Deb's life was filled with good friends, many she knew since grade school. Deb loved spending time with her family and enjoyed the many get togethers throughout the years. Her family couldn't have asked for anyone better in their lives. She was the ideal mother, daughter, sister, friend and nurse. Everyone was lucky to have her in their life.
Debbie's family will miss her smile, humor, and wit. She bravely exhibited these qualities until the day she died. Debbie is survived by her son, Tommy, of Valley Cottage, NY, daughter, Catherine and her partner Heather, of Houston, TX, her mother and father, Alice and Bill Burke of Valley Cottage, NY, her brothers and sisters, Bill Burke and his wife Theresa of Springfield, VA, Jimmy Burke and his wife Tricia of Chelmsford, MA, Mary Burke of Alexandria, VA, Bebe McNutt and her husband Peter of West Nyack, NY, Anthony Burke of Valley Cottage, NY, her niece and nephews, Jimmy, Will, Meghan, and Patrick Burke. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered Monday, 11am at St. Paul's Church, Congers, NY with interment to follow at Gethsemane Cemetery, Congers, NY.
