Dr. Martha Magner passed away on July 18, 2011. Martha was the loving wife of the late Thomas. She was survived by her beloved children LeeAnn and husband John O’Connor, Myra and husband John Brady, Megan Magner and husband Tony Ulacco, John and wife Lynne Magner; adored grandchildren Cristin, Kevin, Shannon, Curran, Kyle, Ryan, Alec, and Téa. Martha had a passion for teaching. She was an educator for over 40 years. She specialized in working with students to improve testing scores. She continued to instruct education majors in the same practice at various Universities and colleges. Martha received her PhD from Fordham University. Family will receive friends at Higgins Funeral Home on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at St. Boniface Church at 10am followed by interment at Fred Loescher Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to International Reading Association, 800 Barksdale Road, PO Box 8139, Newark, D.E. 19714.
