Edward W. Applebee, Jr. age 91, passed away on March 31,2020. He was born in Ossining, NY. Ed served in the US Army and was stationed in South Korea. Afterwards, he graduated From Davis & Elkins College, in Elkins, West Virginia. In 1953, he married Nancy J. Jordan, a loving marriage of over 67 years. Together they raised four children; Susan, Linda (husband, John Brady), Jordan (predeceased), and William (wife, Carra). Ed retired from Westchester County as a civil engineer and licensed land surveyor.
Ed enjoyed sports, playing baseball, basketball, golf and skiing. He was an avid reader and bridge player. He also had an appreciation of nature, enjoying gardening and birdwatching. He will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Clarkstown Police Dept. (with special appreciation to Officer John Giordano) and to the Nyack Hospital Medical Staff for the heartfelt care they provided him during his brief illness.
