Eileen B Ahle of Nyack NY, 85 years old, passed away on May 1st after a brief illness. Raised in the Bronx, Eileen was born on January 22, 1935 to John and Florence Lynch. She is predeceased by her three sisters Marie, Alice, and Margaret. After graduation from high school, Eileen worked for several Railroads and married John L. Ahle in 1957. She left the railroad when she had her first child in 1959. They moved to Nanuet in 1962 to raise their family. Eileen was active in local politics; she was chair of the Clarkstown 1976 Bicentennial Committee and served for many years on the town’s traffic advisory board. She was an active member of St. Anthony’s Parish, teaching CCD. After taking several bookkeeping and accounting classes she began a career in accounting and tax services with several local CPA firms in Rockland and Westchester Counties for more than 25 years. After her sons graduated from college, she earned her bachelor’s degree at the age of 59 from Ramapo College in 1994. Upon retirement she and John moved to Cape Cod where she was active with the Eastham Council on Aging, the Eastham Thrift Shop and St. Joan of Arc Parish. They enjoyed traveling and hosting family and friends at their home. For many years they would winter in Vero Beach, enjoying the warmer weather and visiting with family and other snowbirds. In 2019, after 23 years on the Cape, health reasons brought them back to Rockland to be closer to family. She is survived by her four sons, John (Deb), Robert (Ann Marie), Peter (Diahann) and Timothy. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, one great grandson and several nieces and nephews.
A private burial service was held at St. Anthony cemetery. A memorial Mass and celebration of her life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the food pantry at Catholic Charities Community Services of Rockland, 78 Hudson Ave, Haverstraw, NY 10927.
