Emelio "Danny" Daniels

Emelio “Danny” Daniels passed away on September 12, 2010. Danny was born in Troy, NY to Salvatore and Thomasina (Tessone) Daniels on March 26, 1924. He resided in New City for fifteen years prior Nanuet and was raised in White Plains, NY. He served in the United States Army during WWII as a medic in Eastern Europe. Danny married Thelma in 1950 at Mt. Carmel Church White Plains, NY. He worked for Wallach’s Clothing Store for over forty years and retired in 1992 from Nanuet. Danny was an avid New York Giants fan, a devoted and loving husband, father, grand father, great grand father and father-in-law whose greatest joy came from his family. He is survived by his daughters Kathy Farber and husband Richard, of New City; Thelma Ablan and husband Gerald of Chicago; brother Thomas Daniele of Peekskill, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Danny was predeceased by his wife Thelma in 1995, daughter Thomasina Harmel in 2009, and five brothers, and two sisters. Family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9Pm at Higgins Funeral Home New City, NY. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday 10:15am St. Francis of Assisi Church W, Nyack. The burial will follow at St. Anthony’s Cemetery Nanuet, NY. In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
