Gerard T. Fox

Gerard (Jerry) Thomas Fox of Pomona, NY, 76 years old, passed away peacefully on January 28, 2020. Jerry was born in NY, NY on October 22, 1943 to John and Eleanor Fox (nee Donnelly). He attended high school at Cathedral Prep in New York City and then "St. Joseph’s Seminary (Dunwoodie) Yonkers." Jerry dedicated his life to service to others and his community, including his tenure as an ordained Roman Catholic priest from 1969 to 1979. Later, he entered the real estate profession and worked in Rockland County, NY until recently. Additionally, he was an active member of the Clarkstown Sunrise Rotary Club, and participated in various volunteer projects through the years.

Jerry enjoyed entertaining his family and friends, summer days at his pool, and spending time loving his dogs, Kelly and Perry. Reminiscing about growing up in the Bronx was always a favorite pastime for him, too. Jerry is survived by his three sons Hien (Van), David (Sophia), and Henry (Jane), and his brother John (Maureen) and sisters Jayne Knips and Denise O’Neill. Additionally, he is also survived by his grandchildren Maylan, Elan, Jeannie, Lily, Chris and Christine. He was loved by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends were very important to Jerry and he will be missed dearly.

Family will receive friends on Sunday, February 2, 2020 from 1-5 PM at Higgins Funeral Home in New City,NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 11 AM, at St. Francis of Assisi R.C. Church, West Nyack, followed by interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Navy Seal Foundation, 1619 D Street, Virginia Beach, VA 23459.
