Giovanna Giordano

Giovanna was born in Guardia Lombardi, Italy on February 6, 1932. She was married in 1948 to Vito Giordano. They resided in a small town in Italy where they owned a convenience market until his passing in 1985 at which time she moved to the U.S. to be with her children and their families.

Giovanna is survived by her daughter Angela DiMatteo and spouse Vito DiMatteo, daughter in-law Maria Giordano. She is also survived by five grandchildren and spouses: Joanne Pitkin, Vito Giordano and Nicole, Frank Giordano, Jerry and Ashley DiMatteo, Vito and Kristen DiMatteo; seven great grandchildren who all meant the world to her: Madyson, Makayla, Gianna, Anthony, Luciano, Marcello and Vincenzo. She was predeceased in death by her loving son, Michael Giordano, and loving husband Vito. She cherished her time spent with family especially with her grandchildren and great grandchildren who she adored and all have made her very proud.

Visiting hours will be on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Higgins Funeral Home in New City from 4pm-8pm. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday March 12, 2024 at 10am at St. Augustine's Church in New City followed by a burial in St. Anthony's Cemetery in Nanuet, New York.
