A Message to Guy
It has been one year since we last spoke. I look to speak with you again but I found out today that you had passed away. I wish I had known. I remember us laughing and talking about everything - from our children, work and especially politics. I can see you reading the news from around the world conversing about the days events. I will definitely miss everything about you. I cannot hear your voice, I cannot touch you again. My friend, my lover and my companion. The Bible promises a resurrection. I will look forward to see you at that time, where we will meet somewhere in time.

My Uncle Guy was a great man!  He was always smiling, always happy and always pleasant.  We know you are no longer suffering and we are comforted by that, but miss you so much.  I'm glad we got to celebrate your last birthday with you. I didn't realize that would be your last, but God always has a plan.  I know he welcomed you in heaven with open arms.  I love you with all my heart.

Sad!!! A tribute to my beloved uncle who was a father to me ..Guy Darly Mayer. His  amazing journey began on July 20, 1940  and   ended Wednesday January 24th, 2018 around 12:15 pm  after a lengthy  battle with cancer courageously fought ! When I got the call that he had passed on .. my heart stopped for a minute .. I screamed... cried and stopped  as I know he would expect me to be strong...  and strong I became...My heart is broken, my soul is destroyed, my world is shattered, my inquisitive mind has so many questions, yet very few answers. I lost my uncle, my father, my friend , my encyclopedia, my compass, my rock, my pillar in a nutshell the rainbow in my clouds. This incredible man  left his beloved Haiti in 1986, uncertain of the future yet determined to pave the way for his family. Alone on a foreign soil  away from his siblings he endured heartaches, setbacks, trials, tribulations but he continued to follow the path of purpose. I humbly and proudly say " Job well done, life well lived". "Guy Darly Mayer , you may have been one person to the world but to us  your family  you were our  world.  You will never be forgotten ..we will  see you again, rest in peace ..Rejoice with God and your siblings that has gone home before you  .. YOU won cancer did not win YOU DID !! " Ti Pas"
