2022. She was born on August 13,1933 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to Mariela Bernagene and
Barnave Petit.
In her home country of Haiti, Jacqueline met Luckner Guillouette. They were married on
November 21, 1976 and have 3 children together. Jacqueline made a living in Haiti as a
dress seamstress and designer before moving to the United States.
Upon migrating to Brooklyn, NY in the fall of 1978 she worked in the frame work
industry until her retirement in 1995. After retiring, she would spend her time flying back
and forth between Haiti and New York visiting her children and grandchildren. She
would spend the summer months in New York and winter months in Haiti. Jacqueline
moved full time to Spring Valley, NY in Rockland County after the January 2010
earthquake in Haiti.
As her grandson, Dimitry would say, “Grandma only eats, sleeps and prays”. Jacqueline
enjoyed attending weekly Sunday mass, watching EWTN, cooking shows, listening to
Family radio, but her GREATEST joy was spending quality time with her family and
loved ones-especially her grandchildren and her great-grandson.
She is survived by her daughters Maggie Lindor (Guillouette), Marie Guillouette, her son
Darlay Guillouette, son-in-law John C. Lindor, daughter-in-law Kate Guillouette. She is
also survived by her sisters, Gislene Pierre and Marie-Louise Juste; grandchildren: Eric
Omundsen, Tamara Attimy (Lindor), George Castillo, Dimitry Lindor, Jada Guillouette,
Isabella Guillouette, Gehrig and great grandson Vega Attimy, in addition to many nieces
and nephews; Rachel, Ronald, Martha, Carline, Anderson, Claude, Ernst, Ronaldo, Rose-
Danielle.
She is predeceased by her parents, siblings and husband Luckner Guillouette.
Jacqueline- a strong woman of faith, an earthquake survivor, a mother, sister, aunt,
grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew
her.
Visiting Thursday 5-9:00PM Mass will be held Friday 10:00AM St. Joseph's Church
