James Brady, 85, of Chestnut Ridge, NY went to rest with the Lord on April 13, 2014. Born on May 6, 1928, James was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Lillian Brady, and his brother Joseph. “Uncle Jimmy”, as he was known to many, served in the US Army from 1950-1956 with the 969th Engineer Construction Battalion, stationed in Italy. Upon dishcarge, he returned to work at Consolidated Edison for 32 years. He is survived by his devoted sister-in-law, Lorraine Brady of New City and six nieces, Kathleen McKay of Bronxville, Marybeth Christiansen of Fairport, NY, Patricia O’Connell of Texas, Geralynn Lynn of Orangeburg, Kristine Stein of NC and Joanna Munari of Valley Cottage. In addition he was a Great Uncle to, and very much loved by 11 nieces and nephews.
Family will receive visitors at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY on Monday April 21 from 3-7pm. Mass of Christian burial will take place Tuesday April 22nd, 10am at St. Francis of Assisi Church. Interment will follow at Fred Loescher Cemetery, New Hempstead, NY.
