

Joanne Cronin of Stony Point, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on September 27, 2025. She is survived by her husband of 60 inseparable years, Richard Cronin, and her two sons Christopher [Courtney] and Mark [Jennifer]. Joanne was extremely proud of her five beautiful grandchildren Kaeleigh, Connor, Keith, Brian, and Casey and cherished each and every moment she spent with them.
Joanne was born in Manhattan, NY to Edward Cerrano and Mary Cerrano [Audano] who both preceded her in death. She is also survived by her brother Robert Cerrano and his wife Sherry of St. Louis, Missouri and their beautiful family.
Joanne was extremely devoted to her faith, nation, and community. After decades of service, she retired as the Administrative Assistant to the Superintendent of the North Rockland School District. She also served as the Assistant Chairperson for the Rockland County Republican Committee for over 10 years.
Joanne was a devout Catholic whose faith in the Lord was unwavering, right until the moment she was graced to meet him. Even while battling her own horrible disease; Joanne selflessly prayed daily for an extensive list of her friends, family, neighbors, coworkers, and doctors. She was a member of St. Gregory Barbarigo Parish in Garnerville, NY for more than six decades and was active in both church and school programs for many years. Her selfless service inspired and forged her children/grandchildren to become Eagle Scouts (6), a Fire Chief, a Pediatric ER Nurse, a Supervisory Special Agent of the FBI and a Brigadier General in the United States Army.
Friends and family are welcome to visit with her to celebrate her life at the Higgins Funeral home located at 321 South Main St., New City, New York on Thursday, October 9th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral mass will be held Friday October 10th at 11:00 AM at Saint Gregory Barbarigo Church, 25 Cinder Road, Garnerville, New York. She will be laid in eternal rest immediately following at St. Anthony’s Cemetery, 36 West Nyack Road, Nanuet, New York.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to the Golisano Children’s Hospital at the University of Rochester to support their research to cure children with cancer.
