

Residence in New City, NY, surrounded by her loving family . She was born in Brooklyn,
NY to the late William D. and Veronica Woglom. A mother of six, she was married to her
best friend, Robert F Dolan, until his death in 2012.
Joyce and Bob lived in Pearl River, NY, where they raised their six children and where
she was active in the community. She served on the Board of Directors of the Rockland
County American Red Cross, and as a Trustee on the Board of the Orangetown
Museum where she was responsible for fundraising and public relations. As a member
of the Board of Directors of the Association for Retarded Children, Joyce assisted in the
establishment of the first Community Residence in Rockland County. In 1986, she was
named “Woman of the Year” by the Pearl River School Board for service to the
community. She also served as Eucharistic Minister at St. Margaret’s Roman Catholic
Church .
Joyce was employed by the Greater New York Blood Center, as a Field Consultant for
ten years where she promoted and coordinated blood drives in Rockland, Westchester,
and Orange Counties. During this time she organized the largest community blood
drive in the state of New York.
In retirement , Joyce and Bob moved to Pine Lakes Estates in North Fort Myers, Florida
where she learned to play golf, and continued to be involved in the community and
church. She was the President of the Pine Lakes Women’s Club, served as the
Chairperson of the Pine Lakes Social Committee, and as a member of the Board of
Directors of the Pine Lakes Estates Homeowners Association. In addition Joyce
continued to be active in the church. She was part of the original team to raise funds to
build St. Theresa Roman Catholic Church in North Fort Myers. She joined the parish
council, was part of numerous fundraising campaigns over the years, and continued to
serve as a Eucharistic Minister at St Theresa Roman Catholic Church.
Joyce is survived by her sister, Betty Bastian of North Fort Myers, FL; her sister-in-law,
Patricia Dolan of Pearl River, NY; her children, Robert F. Dolan, Jr., (Mary) of
Washingtonville, NY; Kevin M. Dolan (Nina) of Port St Lucie, FL; Katherine Silverman,
(Bart) of New City, NY; Brian J. Dolan of Orangeburg, NY; Jeffery S. Dolan, (Sherri) of
Washingtonville, NY; and Andrew W. Dolan, (Jean) of Chester, NY. Her grandchildren,
Brandon (Shelby), Robert, Courtney, Scott, Nicole, Ryan, John, Zachary, William and
Kimberly; her great grandchild, Connor; many beloved nieces and nephews; and
extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 pm and 7-9 pm on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Michael J.
Higgins Funeral Service at 321 South Main Street, New City, NY. A mass of christian
burial will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 10 a.m. at St Margaret’s Roman
Catholic Church, 115 West Central Avenue, Pearl River, NY.
