Lydia Mercado passed away on April 28, 2012 . She was born on July 9, 1924 in Ponce, Puerto Rico to Sandalio and Juana (Pacheco) Vazquez. She worked as a nurses aid for many years for Rain in Castle Hill, Bronx, NY. She will be missed by all who knew her. Family will receive friends on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Services will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home followed by a private interment.
