Margaret DiMartino

Margaret DiMartino, of Nanuet, NY, 81 years old, passed away peacefully on May 16, 2026. She is survived by her daughter Angela DiMartino and son-in-law Andrew Russell, her son John DiMartino Jr. and daughter-in-law Ginny Raichart, and her son Paul DiMartino. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Theo and Jack DiMartino, and three step-grandchildren, Noah, Claire and Fox. She was predeceased in death by her husband of 59 years, John, on April 29, 2026.

Margaret was born in New York, NY to John and Anna Steiner on September 12, 1944. Margaret married her loving husband John in 1967, and in 1974, they moved to their current home in Nanuet.

She worked for over 40 years as a Customer Service representative at Rockland Bakery, where she enjoyed helping people order delicious baked goods. Margaret had a great sense of humor, and cherished her time spent with an extended family of in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends, both in person and virtually. She never forgot to wish someone a happy birthday, graduation or holiday, and enjoyed writing poems to commemorate special occasions. She loved cooking, gardening, conquering puzzles on her iPad, and baking dozens of Christmas cookies for everyone.

A wake will be held on Friday May 22, 2026, from 2pm – 6pm at Higgins Funeral Home at 321 S. Main Street, New City, NY 10956. A funeral mass will be held on Saturday May 23, 2026, at 11am, followed by a burial, in Ascension Cemetery at 650 Saddle River Road, Airmont, NY 10952.
