Marie Theresa Licht

Marie Licht of New City, NY, 91 years old, passed peacefully on October 27, 2025.

She is survived by her son, Vincent Licht, and his wife, Diane, of Congers; her daughter, Theresa May, and her husband, Joseph, of New City; her daughter,Dianne McKim, and her husband, Ken, of Orangeburg; and her son Gregory Licht and his wife Lisa, of Congers. Marie is also survived by eight beautiful grandchildren, Holly, Timothy (wife Maggie), Paul, Christopher, Nicholas, Piera, Angela (husband Jason), and Amanda, and one great-grandchild, Arianna.

Marie was very proud of her family. She cherished spending time with them and always being there for all of them. Marie was born and raised in Tomkins Cove, NY, on July 6, 1934, by her parents, Michael and Tomasina Sansalone. When they were teenagers, she met her sweetheart, Lee Licht, at Lederle Laboratories in Pearl River, New York. They married soon after that, on December 4, 1954. Lee predeceased her in November 2024, shortly before their 70th wedding anniversary.

Marie enjoyed a variety of occupations. She was a wonderful stay-at-home mom,worked at Lederle Labs, and was an electrologist for over 40 years. Lee and Marie enjoyed many years of family vacations at the shore in North Wildwood and visits to the casinos in Atlantic City. Memories of nearly 50 summers together at the Jersey shore, with over 30 friends and relatives, will never be forgotten.

Marie will always be remembered for her deep love, care, and encouragement for her family. Spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren was her greatest joy.

Marie’s family invites you to a service celebrating her life at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Ascension Cemetery Chapel, 650 Saddle River Road, Airmont, NY.
