Maureen Dorothy Gemignani

Maureen Dorothy Gemignani passed away peacefully on April 10, 2011 at home with her family by her side. She was born in the Bronx on November 5, 1940 to Thomas and Dorothy Ryan. Maureen has been a resident of Rockland County for 37 years. She worked at Jawonio’s Samuel G. Fisher Community Residence for 20 years retiring in 2000. Maureen dedicated her life to helping others either it being at work or at home with her family. She enjoyed being a member of the West Nyack II Seniors, but most of all she enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Maureen is survived by her sons Agostino and his wife Michelle, John and his wife Carol, and her daughter Denise and her husband Bobby Congionti. She will be missed dearly by her grandchildren Danielle, Francesca, Angela, Lauren, Matthew, Sophia, and Isabella. Maureen is predeceased by her loving husband Agostino. She will be missed by her many loving friends and family. Her family will receive friends on Thursday at the Higgins Funeral Home in New City from 2-4pm & 6-9pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday at 11am at Sacred Heart Church in Suffern. Burial to follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Nanuet. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the United Hospice of Rockland, 11 Stokum Lane, New City, NY 10956.
