Migdalia Gascot

Migdalia Gascot, 78, was born on March 31, 1947, in Manatí, Puerto Rico, to Francisco Cordero and Angelina Miranda. She passed away on Friday, March 20, 2026, at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY,following a brief and aggressive battle with cancer,surrounded by the love she gave so freely throughout herlife.

Migdalia was a lifelong resident of New York, living in the Bronx, West Haverstraw, and then Monroe. She moved to New York as a child and graduated from high school, where she helped organized Aspira programs that supported and elevated the Hispanic community.

She is predeceased by her brothers, Jose and Hector Cordero.

She is survived by her sister, Blanca Doris Baez Cordero, her brothers, Angel and Raymond Cordero; her children; grandchildren; extended family; and many dear friends.

She was the proud and devoted mother of Bernard Benny Gascot, Brandon Matthew Gascot, Melanie Gascot-Diaz, and Melissa Brenda Monroe.

Her love grew as her family expanded. She was a cherished grandmother to Danae’, Serah, Thara, Kristin, Mikayla, Jazmin, Brandon, Gabriella, and Marcus, and a proud great-grandmother to Elianna.

Migdalia was completely devoted to her family and their well-being. Her daily actions, energy, and decisions were focused on supporting her loved ones. She had a beautiful giving spirit, a warm smile, and positivity that touched the hearts of everyone she met.

Help us celebrate her life on Sunday, March 29, 2026 at 2pm-6pm. Pastor Service will start promptly at 5pm.
