Paul was a member of the United States Marine Corps, proudly serving in combat with the First Marine Division during the Korean War. He retired as a Sergeant from the Jersey City Police Department after an illustrious thirty year career.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Margaret Potocnie, his children Paul and his wife Kim of Mansfield, MA, Barbara Irwin and her husband Tom, Christopher, and Mark of Nanuet, NY; his grandchildren Tommy, Kiera, Danny, Andrew, Adam, and Elise; his sisters Gertrude of Marlton, NJ and Regina of Hot Springs, AK. He is predeceased by seven brothers and sisters.
The family will receive friends Wednesday March 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Michael J. Higgins Funeral Service Inc. A service will be celebrated at St. Anthony’s Church, Nanuet, NY on Thursday March 28 at 10 am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Paul’s name to United Hospice of Rockland, 11 Stokum Lane, New City, NY 10956.
