Richard P. Butler

Richard Patrick Butler, age 68, of West Nyack, NY, passed away after a very brief illness, on March 3, 2026. Born and raised in Ozone Park, NY was a proud 1975 graduate of Christ the King Redeemer High School and earned his degree from St. John’s University in 1983.

Rich worked at Morgan Stanley for forty three years of service, in various roles. He retired in 2024.

Rich’s passions were St. John’s men’s basketball, the long suffering Mets, Irish music and a nice cold well-poured Guinness.

Rich is pre-deceased by his loving wife Bridget, his parents Anna May and Dominic Butler and his sister-in-law Charlotte. He is survived by his three sons, Sean, Danny and Kevin; and his brother, John. His sister-in-law Mary and brother-in-law, Mike. He maintained close relationships with his extended family of cousins as well as Aunt Kathleen and Aunt Sheila.

Memorial Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 8, 2026, from 3-7pm at Michael J Higgins, 321 S Main Street, New City, New York. Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Monday, March 9, 2026, 11:30am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 128 Parrott Road, West Nyack, NY.
