Richard G. Conklin

Richard G. Conklin 72, passed away on June 5, 2022 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, NY. He is survived by his wife of 49 years Donna, sons Sean and Derek, daughter in laws Biljana and Stephanie, grandchildren Jocelyn, Paige, Greyson, and Mila, brother Ed, sister-in-law Caryl and their children James, Caitlyn, and Justin, sister Kathleen and her husband Bruce and their children Jacqueline, Danielle, and Chelsea.

Richard was born in Suffern, NY on July 22, 1949. He graduated from Nanuet High School and attended Southern CT University where he played football. He received his master's degree from Seton Hall University. He spent 40 years teaching health and physical education at Nanuet High School where he also served as the Head Football Coach for 40 years and Head Wrestling Coach for 35.

He was a generous, selfless, and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved unconditionally in all aspects of life. He had a deep passion for Nanuet Football, Wrestling, Notre Dame Football, and the New York Mets. He will be deeply missed by many as he had an everlasting impact on all he met.

Visitation will be at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY on Thursday June 9, 2022 from 3-8:00pm. His funeral mass will be Saint Francis of Assisi in West Nyack, NY on Friday June 10, 2022 at 10:00 am followed by interment in St. Anthony’s cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude’s or the Conklin Scholarship Fund Inc. at 38 N. Lexow Ave Nanuet, NY 10954 would be greatly appreciated.
