Robert “Bobby” O’Keeffe Sr., born February 28, 1955, in the Bronx, New York, passed away surrounded by the love of his family. Born to James and Margaret O’Keeffe, Bobby grew up with a deep devotion to those he cared about—values that carried him throughout his life.
Bobby was a proud Marine who served his country from 1972-1975. He was a former VP of the Hudson Valley Chapter, and former Parent Chapter member of the Nam Knights.
Bobby spent his career as a truck driver, a job he approached with pride and dedication. Whether on the road or at home, he was known for his reliability, his sense of humor, and his steady, comforting presence.
Bobby is predeceased by his father James O’Keeffe, mother Margaret O’Keeffe, sister Noreen Sheeran and brother in law Jack Sheeran.
He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Diane O’Keeffe, and his children, Kristen O’Keeffe (Anthony Vega) and Robert O’Keeffe, Jr, as well as his daughter-in-law, Dawn O’Keeffe. Nothing brought Bobby more joy than his role as a grandfather. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren: Dianna O’Keeffe (Matthew Ljuljic), Caitlyn O’Keeffe (Nick Mazzara), Jacqueline O’Keeffe (Ryan Mackey), Emily Vega, Gabriel Vega, and Jack O’Keeffe. He also held a special place in his heart for his great niece Zuri Nolan and great nephew Bennett Nolan, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Bobby will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his kindness, and the quiet strength he carried through life. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
May he rest in peace.
