Russell Troy Hatley Jr of New City joined the love of his life Mary in eternity on April 11, 2022. Russ was born August 29, 1931 to Caryl E. and Russell T. Hatley Sr. Russ will be remembered for his uncanny intelligence and quick wit. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, reading, sports, Black Jack, and the racetrack. Russell’s greatest joy was taking care of his youngest son, Michael Hatley, who enjoyed his life glued to Russ’s side. Russell is also survived by his son Wayne Hatley, his daughter Karen Meta, and son in law Thomas J. Dufel. Russell was an incredible patriarch whose grandchildren, Maryssa Meta Dufel and Ryan Mason Hatley will never forget. Russ was a private in the army who bravely fought in the Korean War. He graduated from Rutgers University in 1957 and owned a construction business for many years.
A celebration of life will be held over the summer along with a military burial at Frederick Loescher Cemetery 10am on August 29, 2022.
