Sandria A. Rosado-Valetta originally of New York City, NY, 71 years old, passed away peacefully in her New City residence in on November 18, 2020. Sandria (or "Sam" as she was known to her family and life long friends) had moved to New City from Garnerville in 2005. She was born and raised in New York City on July 5th, 1949 to Santa and Gregorio Rosado. She graduated from Cathedral High School and married the love of her life, Jeffery Allan Valetta in 2004, with whom she had been with, in a committed domestic partnership, since 1991. Sandria was a former Secretary at the Rockland Psychiatric Center where she had been employed from 1994 until her retirement in 2014. She was also a cancer survivor whose cancer had remained in remission for more than a decade and had trained, in 2009, as a Certified Volunteer for the American Cancer Society's Person to Person Cancer Survivor's Link. Sam’s greatest joys came from her family. She was always generous, thoughtful in words and deeds and simply an awesome eldest sister to her younger siblings. Sam will be deeply missed, but she will always live in our hearts and minds.
She is survived by her sister Judith, brothers and sisters-in-laws, Gregory/Diane and Rolando/Dawn Rosado. Sam is also survived by her many cousins, nieces, nephews, grandnieces grandnephews, as well as her husband's children and grandchildren. She was predeceased by her loving husband Jeff. She will be missed by all who knew her. We will see you again sweet sister!
Family will receive friends on Tuesday 12/1 from 4-8pm at Higgins Funeral Home in New City, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday 12/2, 10am, at St. Augustine’s Church, New City, followed by interment at Frederick Loescher Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Spring Valley, NY.
