I grew up in New City. NY as a child grammer school, high school and then college.  Recently realizing that in my housing development the fathers of the kids I played with where men like Bill Hessian.  We were just kids growing up in a life these men sacrificed for us to live in freedom of the life we enjoyed because of them. These are great men and I so miss their passings.

I was privileged to know this man as my father in law. He was an outstanding grandpa to his granddaughter Kimberly. I only wished I could have thanked him again for everything he and his wife did for Kimberly and I. I think I of them often.

I recently watched a special on CNN about Mr. Hessian, his experience in WWII, and his wish to connect with other veterans. I was deeply moved by what I saw and wanted to meet Mr. Hessian myself. Unfortunately I am a few months late as this great man already passed. Although I dont know Mr. Hessian, I'm leaving this message to respect his life, his service, and his sacrifice.  He was from one of the greatest generations and his legacy will endure in all of us.  Heartfelt wishes to his family. I wish I could have met this man myself.
