

Douglas was born December 30, 1960, the son of Bonnie Jean Wallace and Charles N. Hough, Jr. Doug is survived by his wife, Deborah Gerrick Hough; 2 sons, Tucker Gerrick and Tyler Gerrick; 3 grandsons; by his brothers, Charles N. Hough, III, Dr. Steven Wallace Hough, Mark Hamilton Hough, his sister, Heidi Hamilton-Hough Wessinger, 11 nieces and nephews, and 14 great-nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Bonnie Wallace Hough, Charles N. Hough, Jr., and his niece, Sarah Elyse Hough.
Doug graduated with an Associate’s Degree in Metallurgy from Kishwaukee College; an Associate’s Degree in Automotive Replacement Management, a Bachelor Degree in Business and a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Northwood University. Doug’s love of the outdoors inspired many adventures from climbing and rappelling to being an accomplished photographer. From traveling salesman, to service writer, to manager, to instructor, Doug’s vast, varied knowledge and compassion for others helped him to build a life and career where he and his wife, Deborah, poured into the people put in their path. His greatest titles were Husband, and Papaw.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 12:00 to 3:00 pm at the Lakewood Memorial Chapel in the Lakewood Cemetery, 3600 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55408.
