Preceded in death by Grandparents: Jack D. Warren and Charles and Ruthlynn Gellerman.
Matthew was a beautiful, adventurous and free spirited soul who made his own path thru life. He was impulsive and his favorite expression was “Let’s go do it now.” Matthew loved music and playing his guitars (with amps -very loud!) He was a very sensitive, caring person. He had a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh. His eyes would sparkle when he smiled. He was polite, had great manners and was very easy to get along with. Besides music, he enjoyed fishing, going to the casino, video games, movies, long walks around the lakes and the company of friends and family and the family dogs. He really enjoyed family vacations. On one such vacation, he even managed to talk his Dad into getting tattoos together. Matthew had quite a way with words!
Matthew graduated from Osseo Senior High in 2007and worked many jobs for many companies and enjoyed helping others, but he seemed to enjoy the outdoor work the best doing lawn maintenance. He would take pictures of the lawns when he thought he did a really great job and send them to us. He stocked shelves, cashiered, and unloaded truck deliveries in stores or warehouses He was very intelligent and technically savvy, and after High School, he started to attend college three different times, starting with IPR Institute of Production Recording to follow his love of music to become a Production Engineer. During this time, he developed and struggled with Mental Illness including Schizophrenia, Bipolar, ADHD and anxiety which did not allow him to focus or develop to his full potential. He also struggled with Chemical Dependency. Addiction does not discriminate. In the days before his passing, he was happy, and having good days after adjusting meds the week before. On the day before he passed, as we were driving to his doctor’s appointment, Matthew was busy on his phone and said “Mom, just so you know, I’m ordering a bunch of stuff from Amazon.” These packages arrived after his passing. These are not the actions of someone planning to leave soon. We loved him so and will miss him every day for the rest of our lives.
Matthew is survived by his parents, Gary and Susan Warren, sister Kelsey Warren, Grandmother Darlene Warren, loving aunts and uncles who loved him so and spoiled him terribly: Paul and Peggy Warren, David and Nancy Warren, Jack and Caroline Warren, Jeffrey Gellerman, John Gellerman and Sherry Tyrrell, Christopher Gellerman, David Gellerman, Peter and Joann Gellerman, Nancy and Rich Hansen, many cousins and wonderful neighbors, and his canine companions, Daisy Mae Warren and Emmy Reese Warren.
Visitation on Saturday May 8 from 1:00 to 2:30 at Kapala Glodek Malone Funeral Home, 7800 Bass Lake Road, New Hope, MN 55428. Due to COVID capacity limits, the service at 2:30 will be private, by family invitation only. Interment will be at a later date at Gethsemane Cemetery in New Hope. Memorials preferred to NAMI Minnesota (National Alliance on Mental Illness.)
