Angelle Romero Bourque

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Angelle Romero Bourque, age 83, at 10:00 am Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Fr. Jude Thierry will be the celebrant. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Mausoleum.

A gathering of family and friends will be held at Evangeline Funeral Home of New Iberia on Monday from 4:00 pm until 10:00 pm, with the Rosary being recited at 6:30 pm. Visiting hours will resume on Tuesday from 8:00 am unti 9:30 am.

A native of Iberia Parish and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Bourque passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at Dauterive Hospital.

Angelle was a homemaker devoted to the love and care of her family. She was a longtime parishioner of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and enjoyed traveling, trips to the casino with her friends, and tending to her flowers. She leaves behind many fond memories that will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her children, Westley Joseph Bourque, Jr. and fiancée Frances Tingler, and Betty Jean Bourque Vice and husband Naul all of New Iberia; grandchildren, Scott Vice and wife Marsha of Youngsville, and Ruth Vice of Coteau; four great grandchildren, T.J. and Justin Johnson, and Talia and Kayla Vice; and her sisters, Lillie Romero, Cecile Dore, and Pearl Barrilleaux and husband Donald all of New Iberia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Westley J. Bourque, Sr.; parents, Laodice and Anais Viator Romero; and her brothers, Zoel and Mayo Romero.

Serving as pallbearers will be Naul and Scott Vice, T.J. and Justin Johnson, Danny Romero and Adam Valadez.
