NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. James Lynn Mouton, the former Anita Leger, age 75, at 10:30 am on Friday, February 2, 2018 at St. Peter’s Catholic Church with Fr. William Blanda officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Mausoleum.
Visitation will take place on Thursday from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm with the rosary at 6:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Friday at 8:00 am until service time.
A native of Jeanerette and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Mouton passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018 at her residence.
Mrs. Mouton was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church where she taught religion classes for many years. She was the owner of Anita Mouton Real Estate where she was an agent for 20 years and also a Notary Public.
She served as the Matriarch of her family, whom she loved dearly.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years, James Lynn Mouton of New Iberia; her four children, Rachel Lynn Mouton and companion Scott Young; Chad Mouton and fiancé Yolanda Bayer; Mark Mouton and wife Rachel Ann Mouton and Jill Waguespack and husband Darren Waguespack; four grandchildren, Lauren Mouton and partner, Jose’ Valadez; Victoria Montana and husband Jacob; Dillon Mouton and Hunter Mouton her four siblings, Rita Mackenzie and Al; Henry Leger and Anna; Dixie Byler and Dickie and Keith Leger and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Cornelius and Marie Leger.
Pallbearers will be Chad Mouton, Mark Mouton, Patrick Brown, Marshall Leger, Mark Gachassin and Robert Leger. Scott Young, Darren Waguespack, Dillon Mouton and Hunter Mouton will serve as honorary pallbearers.
