Jules was born July 4, 1931 in Hcokley, Texas to the late Buster Stoltz and the late Alma Rivet Stoltz and was one of four children born to that union. He attended high school at New Iberia High School and was the Louisiana State Boxing Champion in 1947. Jules received a boxing scholarship to the University of Miami, earning the title, “Little Hurricane”. He was known for his knock out punches and skills in the ring. Shortly after entering college, Jules was drafted into the United States Army and served his country during the Korean War. It wasn’t long after returning from overseas, that Jules would begin a career with the New Iberia Fire Department. He dedicated his life to serving the families and city of New Iberia with a career that would span 25 years. While working with the fire department, like so many other firefighters, Jules worked in various side jobs when off of his shift. It kept him busy and filled the off days. After his retirement in 1976, he decided to enter Vocational-Technical School and learned the trade of small engine repair. He opened his business, Jules Lawnmower Repair, and quickly earned a great reputation as a quality repairman with reliable and dependable service.
Outside of his career and business, Jules enjoyed hunting and fishing, and playing golf. His sons recalled many fun times with their dad, casting a line and waiting for a fish to bite. Above all, Jules’ greatest love was his family. He shared many years of love, advice and wisdom, and laughs that will be cherished by his family. He will be missed dearly, but his legacy will live on in the hearts and thoughts of all who knew and loved him. Rest well for you have earned your heavenly reward.
Jules is survived by his wife of 65 years, Gloria Delcambre Stoltz; his children, Frank Stoltz (Claudette), Karen Stoltz Boudreaux (Eric) and Eric Stoltz; his grandchildren Lane Boudreaux, Trent Boudreaux, Derrick Stoltz, Brennan Stoltz, Austin Stoltz, Christopher Stoltz, Sarah Stoltz and Ashlyn Stoltz; his great grandchildren, Jardyn Boudreaux, Kamille Boudreaux, Emmie Anne Boudreaux and Carson Stelly; and his sister, Elaine Stoltz.
