Delores “Tut” Bourque Dartez, born on April 27, 1936, in New Iberia, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, at the age of 89. A resident of Rayne, Louisiana, Delores lived a life rooted in faith, family, and deep devotion to those she loved.
A proud and devout Catholic, Tut served for many years as a lector at Our Lady of Perpetual Help and later at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Her faith was a guiding force in her life, and she served for many years as a lector at both Our Lady of Perpetual Help and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. If you ever heard her reading on a Sunday morning, you remember the warmth in her voice and the sincerity behind every word. She didn’t just show up for her faith — she lived it.
Above all, Delores was a loving mother and grandmother. She cared deeply and wholeheartedly, and her family always knew they were loved. Whether it was a call to check in, a gentle reminder, or a story from years gone by, she had her own way of making everyone feel seen and supported.
She is survived by her daughter, Joellyn Dartez Riggle (Randall) . She is also survived by her brother, Ralph Bourque and her sisters-in-law, Dell Bourque and Dawn Bourque. Delores leaves behind one beloved grandchild and two treasured great-grandchildren.
She was welcomed into eternal rest by her husband, Gilbert “Pat” Dartez; her daughter, Lisa Dartez; her parents, Laurent Bourque and Anita Bergeron Bourque; her brothers, John, Elvis, Donald, Paul, and Allen Bourque; and her sister, Loretta Leleux.
Delores “Tut” Dartez will be remembered for her gentle heart, her unwavering faith, and the quiet strength she carried throughout her life. Her memory will continue to shine in the lives of all who knew and loved her.
Graveside Services for Mrs. Dartez will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Mausoleum.
