Jean, as she was affectionately known, was born on December 8, 1942, in Mansfield, Louisiana, to the late Edward Weaver and the late Mattie Houston Taylor. She was one of four daughters born to that union and was a proud graduate of Mansfield High School.
Jean met the love of her life, Alvin Jeansonne, at a local diner. She, the prettiest girl in the diner, and Alvin, with the fastest car, shared an instant connection, and they were married shortly after. Jean embraced her most cherished role as a mother and homemaker. Together, Jean and Alvin welcomed five beautiful children into their lives in the quaint town of Vinton, Louisiana, where they made their home. A woman of great faith, Jean became a devoted parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Vinton, where she also served as a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. Jean selflessly offered her prayers and service in Christ for those in need.
Jean’s love of gardening and the outdoors was well-known. She took great pride in her beautiful flowers and manicured yard. An excellent cook, Jean enjoyed preparing meals for her family, and it was said that her cornbread dressing was the best in all of South Louisiana.
Above all, Jean’s greatest joy was being surrounded by her family and friends. She led a life built on faith, love, and kindness, and she treated all those she met with generosity. She leaves behind a lasting legacy in the hearts of those who knew her, and her memory will forever be cherished by her loved ones.
Jean is survived by her children, Angela Guillot (David), Gary Jeansonne (Darlene), Karen Goutierrez, and Julia Jeansonne; her grandchildren, Jessica Charles (Bryan), Angelle Jeansonne, Katie Gennusa (Timmy), Ryan Guillot (Josie), Kensie Dent (Josh), Brandon Guillot (Haylee), Taylor Walter (Sarina), and Brett Perioux (Charlotte); and her precious great-grandchildren, Drew Guillot, Tanner Vallot, Ahmie Dent, Rainn Dent, and Ruby Paganuzzi.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Jeansonne; her son, Anthony Jeansonne; her parents, Mattie Taylor and Edward Weaver; and her sisters, Hazel Ingram, Linda Vandiver, and Evonne Litton.
