Elma Gary Myers

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted for Mrs. Armand E. Myers. Sr., the former Elma Gary, age 76, at 10:00 am on Friday, March 15, 2013 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church. Fr. Mark Derise will officiate at the services. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Thursday with a Rosary at 6:30 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Friday until service time.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Myers passed away at 1:40 pm on Tuesday, March 12, 2013 at Iberia Extended Care.

Mrs. Myers was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church where she taught catechism for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister who will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Armand E. Myers, Sr.; four children, Patsy Arceneaux; Pamela Romero and husband Barry; Sheila Thompson and Armand Myers, Jr. and his wife Cindy all of New Iberia; nine grandchildren, Donald Arceneaux, Jr., Angela Arceneuax, Brandi Arceneaux, Cheri Derouen, Leah Peltier, Jeremy Romero, Shannon Myers, Trey Myers and Rickie Myers; eighteen great grandchildren; and two brothers, Roy Gary and wife Debra and Wilfred Gary all of New Iberia.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Eva Viator Gary; two sons, Rickie Myers and Roland Myers; two brothers, Amar Gary and Saymar Gary; four sisters, Eugenie Dore, Norma Bourque, Loretta Viator and Shirley Hebert; son in law, Donald Arceneaux; and her in laws, Maurice and Laura Myers.

Pallbearers will be Donald Arceneaux, Jr., Jason Arceneaux, Trey Myers, Rickie Myers, Jeremy Romero and Trayton Derouen.
