Elva Marie Davis Moore

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Moore passed away at 4:30 am on Sunday, March 17, 2013 at Belle Teche Nursing Home.

Marie opened her home to everyone. She was noted for her generous heart and her excellent cooking. Her world revolved around family and she and her former husband, Wayne, never turned a child nor an animal away. Marie worked as a nurse at Jeanerette Mills for several years. She was also known for her wicked sense of humor. Marie will be sorely missed by all of her friends at Belle Teche where she spent the last three years of her life.

She is survived by her sons, Wayne Daniel Moore, Jr. of New Iberia, Stevie Moore and wife Cathy of New Iberia, Charles Moore and wife Theresa of New Iberia, Patrick Moore and wife Michelle of Mississippi; daughters, Terry Hays and husband Philip of Dubai, Janet Broussard of New Iberia; sisters, Shirley Porter of New Iberia, Joe Norton and husband Charles of New Iberia; brother, Ronald Davis and wife Patricia of North Carolina; ten grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl Davis, Sr. and Irby Scroggs Davis; son, Michael Moore and brother, Jay Davis.
