Joseph Curtis Norris

NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mr. Joseph Curtis Norris, age 64, at 7:00 pm Sunday June 10, 2011 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Travis Abadie officiating. Interment will be held at Memorial Park Mausoleum at a later date.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 10:00 pm on Sunday.

A native or Erath and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Norris passed away at 1:30 am on Friday June 10, 2011 at Iberia Medical Center.

Mr. Norris worked with the City of New Iberia for 27 years. He loved listening to Cajun music. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is survived by his brothers, Edward “Ed” Norris and wife Olive of New Iberia and Alex Norris and wife Cathy of New Iberia; sister, Theresa Norris Moneaux and husband Keith Sr. of Erath; sister-in-law, Elgine Delahoussaye Norris of New Iberia; numerous nieces, nephews, and Godchildren; and his faithful dog and companion, Paco.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Evariste and Nella LeBlanc Norris; brother, Donald Ray Norris; sister, Betty Ann Norris Touchet; and sisters-in-law, Dorothy “Dot” Norris and Lillian Romero Norris.

The family would like to express their most sincere gratitude to the staff of Heart of Hospice, Dr. Carl Ditch, and the staff of Iberia Medical Center for their compassionate care of Curtis.
