NEW IBERIA – Funeral Services will be conducted for Mary Hebert Touchet Labit, age 75, at 12:00 Noon Saturday, June 30, 2018 at Evangeline Funeral Home with Fr. Bill Melancon officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm on Friday with a Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen at 8:00 am on Saturday until service time.
A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Labit passed away at 6:20 pm on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
Mary enjoyed being outdoors tending to her flowers and feeding the birds. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her great grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Romero and husband Rene and Patty Touchet and partner Tiffany Romero all of New Iberia and Diane Touchet and partner Betty Cormier of Rayne; one brother, Joe Hebert and wife Pat of Alabama; two sisters, Norma Hebert of Abbeville and Debbie Comeaux and husband Neil of New Iberia; eight grandchildren including Rene Romero and Bo Romero and three great grandchildren, Ashlyn Romero, Baylee Romero and Brae’ Romero.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Louis Touchet; second husband, Nelson Labit; her son, David Touchet and her parents, Clause Hebert and Aminthe Rouley Hebert Viator and Paul.
Pallbearers will be Bo Romero, Rene Romero, Jr., Joe Hebert, Norma Hebert, Brock Comeaux, Eric Comeaux and Marcus Rougeau.
