

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Mrs. Felix Hebert, the former Ola Romero, age 79, at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Melancon officiating. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Loreauville.
A gathering of family and friends will take place at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2:00 pm until 10:00 pm with a rosary being recited by the Men's Rosary Group at 7:00 pm. The funeral home will reopen on Wednesday from 8:00 am until 1:45 pm.
A native of Erath and resident of New Iberia, Ola passed away on July 16, 2017 at Iberia Medical Center surrounded by her loving family.
Born on January 13, 1938 to the late Ophe and Marie Hulin Romero, Ola was one of three children. Ola was a kind and caring woman who enjoyed the simple things in life. She enjoyed going to the casino and playing Bingo at Village Bingo and the VFW Hall. Ola also liked reading the newspaper every morning with her beloved Chihuahua, Lucky. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Ola will be truly and deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her children, Randy Hebert of New Iberia, David Hebert and Fiancée Candy Meyers of St. Martinville, and Lynette Romero of New Iberia; grandchildren, Nicole Daniels, Lindsey Hebert, Courtney Hebert, Ryan Hebert, Reece Hebert, Andrea Romero, Angel Romero, and Austin Romero; and ten great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of over fifty years, Felix Hebert; parents, Ophe and Marie Romero; brother Ollay Romero; sister, Anna Mae Benoit; and beloved dog, Lucky.
Pall bearers will be Austin Romero, Ryan Hebert, Reece Hebert, Hutton Daniels, Matt Trahan, and Keith Hebert.
