

NEW IBERIA – A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated for Phyllis Thibodeaux Duhon, 55, on Friday, May 15, 2015 at 3:00 pm at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church. Fr. Mario Romero was the celebrant. Phyllis was laid to rest with her father at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Phyllis was born August 29, 1959 in New Iberia to Florence Broussard Thibodeaux and the late Joseph C. “J.C.” Thibodeaux, and passed away peacefully Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at New Iberia Manor North, with her family at her side.
Phyllis worked with Gachassin’s Inc. in the monogramming department for many years, and prior to that with Sterling’s Upholstery.
Some of her favorite pastimes were being outdoors, especially swimming and trips to the beach. She was a great cook and loved sharing a meal with family and friends. Phyllis also enjoyed music and dancing. she leaves behind many fond memories that will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her children, Jason Gaspard (Aubry), Chad Duhon (Melinda), and Craig Duhon; her mother, Florence Broussard Thibodeaux; five grandchildren, Andre’ Gaspard, Jaylee Gaspard, Chad Duhon, Jr., Hailey Duhon, and Conner Duhon; and her sisters, Kathy T. Hulin (Gabe), Jenny T. Gibbons (Cletus) and Angela T. Simon (Tony).
Memorial contributions may be made in Phyllis’ name to the Heart of Hospice, 201 W. Vermilion St., Ste. 100, Lafayette, LA 70501.
