A lifelong resident of Louisiana, Bobby was a simple man with a strong work ethic, a generous heart, and a deep love for the outdoors. In his younger years, he spent countless hours hunting and fishing around the Atchafalaya Basin. He was also a member of the LA Cattleman's Association, the New Iberia Bowling League, and the Acadiana Redfish Association. He later discovered a passion for golf and gardening, often tending to his vegetable garden with the same care and dedication he gave to all aspects of his life.
Bobby was the proud owner and operator of West Main Chevron, a full-service station where he was known not only for his hard work but also for his honesty, kindness, and the respect he gave to every customer. In his later years, he took great pleasure in cracking pecans — a hobby that became something of a trademark, as he owned several machines and often shared the fruits of his labor with family and friends.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. His strength, quick wit, and steady presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Carolyn LeLeux Broussard; his sons Jason Broussard and wife Tabatha, and Bradley Broussard; his beloved granddaughter Madison Broussard; his brother Todd Broussard and wife Marjorie; and his sister Tricia B. Judice and husband Chad;
He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews; his aunts, Dorothy “Dot” McDonald and Myra Polk; sister-in-law, Paula LeLeux; sister-in-law Judy Mestayer and husband Francis "Bodie"; and godchild, Kelly David Perkins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Olan and Laura Viator Broussard; and in-laws, Lelier and Stella LeLeux.
