Mr. Donald P. Robinson

Mr. Robinson was born on September 3, 1926 in Waterford, the son of Russell and Rhoda Hall Robinson. He was a 1944 graduate of Chapman Technical High School in New London, and served in the US Navy during WWII. Mr. Robinson married Natalie Purdy on March 27, 1948 in New London. After working at Pfizer in Groton and Federal Paper Board in Versailles, he worked at Boise Cascade in Steilacoom, WA as an instrumentation supervisor before retiring in Waterford. Mr. Robinson enjoyed camping and fishing in the Pacific Northwest, listening to his favorite music, watching classic movies and spending time with friends and family. Mr. Robinson is survived by his loving wife, his son Edward and wife Norine Robinson of Waterford, his two daughters Eileen and husband William Guptill of Charleston, SC, and Donna and husband Arthur Cote of Enfield, CT, his brother Russell Robinson and his wife Marilyn of Waterford, his three grandchildren Arthur and Elizabeth Cote, and Mathew and wife Ann Guptill, and his great-grandchildren Jad and Jared Guptill. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2009 at 11:00am in Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 181 Ocean Ave., New London, CT 06320. Interment will be private. Calling Hours will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2009 from 5:00 until 7:00pm in the funeral home. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staffs of Lawrence and Memorial Hospital and Green Tree Manor for the exceptional care provided over the past two weeks.
