He was born on October 7, 1952, in Decatur, IL, the son of David Thomas Jones and Patricia Ann Jones.
Michael was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he was awarded a Bronze Star while serving in the United States Army as with the Military Police (MP).
Michael was formerly employed as a Senior Telecommunication Technician. He worked the Department of Navy as a Navy Contractor, also known as the Naval Underwater Sound Lab in New London.
Mike had over 35 years of experience starting from his young years working at Mile Hi Cablevision to Time Warner Cable and various other jobs in multiple states until his retirement in 2009.
After Michael's long successful career, he enjoyed being home and relaxing with his buddy TOBY the Cat, and hanging out with his best friend TONY of 20 plus years.
Michael is survived by his sons Alan Thomas Jones of Cassadaga, NY, and Timothy Jones of Kansas City, Missouri; sister Linda M. Jones (Bleavins); brother Daniel J. Jones; and sister Margaret A. Jones (Bechtold).
