
Raymond C. Mercier, Jr., 66 of New London, passed away on December 9, 2012. Ray was born in Hartford, the only son of the late Raymond and Emma (Kautz) Mercier. He resided in Enfield for most of his life and was a Vietnam Veteran who served his country in the United States Marine Corp. Ray was employed by Union Meat Company, East Hartford for many years before becoming an independent tractor trailer owner/operator. He enjoyed the ocean and it’s surroundings. He especially loved to go fishing in the ocean.
Ray is survived by his daughter, Shannon Myers and her husband Daniel of Waterford; his son, Brandon Mercier of Suffield; and his two grandchildren Alexis and Cooper Myers whom he adored. He is also survived by two sisters, Carol Avery and her husband Edward of Florida; and Anne Mercier of Massachusetts, along with many, many nieces and nephews. Ray was predeceased by his sisters Shirley Mercier, Joan Stearns, Emma Hamilton and her husband John, Ruth Lee and her husband Donald and his nephew Keith Gamage.
