Rose F. Venditto

She was born on September 25, 1913, in New York City, the daughter of Vincent and Carmela Mingoia.

She was the widow of James Venditto, Sr., whom she married on September 24, 1938, in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, in Norwich.

Mrs. Venditto was employed at SS Kresge’s department store in New London for 32 years.

Mrs. Venditto is survived by her son James Venditto, Jr., and his wife Lee Paradis of N. Stonington; her daughters MaryJo McCoy and her husband George of New London, and Carmela “Chick” Hummer of Gales Ferry; her two grandchildren Lisa Connell and her husband Jonathan of Ledyard, and Taryn Alessandro of Maui, HI; her two great grandchildren Sadie and Emory Connell.

In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by five brothers, three sisters and her son-in-law Rodney Hummer.

The funeral procession will assemble tomorrow November 22nd at 9am and will proceed to a 10am Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Huntington St., New London. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, New London. Calling hours will be held today, November 21st, from 5-8pm at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 181 Ocean Ave., New London.
