

William Bernard Rosier, AKA “Bill”, “Roach”, was born October 10, 1950, in Tallahassee, Florida, to the late Eugene H. Rosier, of Tallahassee, FL and Eula Lee Gordon of New London CT. William or “Bernard” as he was referred to by family, relocated to New London Connecticut in 1965, with brothers Eugene and James. He graduated from New London High School in 1969. After graduation he attended Peru State College in Peru, Nebraska.
He returned to New London and was employed as a Carpenter at Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut, where he worked until his retirement in 2001. On December 1, 2009, he was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer. Over the next several years he fought a courageous battle, however, on April 18, 2012 he lost the earthly war with the disease. He has gone to a place where he will no longer have to endure the pain and suffering.
Bernard enjoyed reading the Newspaper, playing basketball and staying current with what was happening with local High School Sports. He also stayed current on local news issues and had an opinion on everything.
He is survived by one Aunt, Quillie Maxwell of Detroit, Michigan; seven Brothers and two Sisters: Eugene A. Rosier (Kay), Suffolk, VA, James E. Rosier, New London, CT; Calvin Gordon (Erin Parfitt), Willimantic, Ct; Luretta Ray (Samuel), Hampton, VA; Earvin Rosier (Paulette), Newport News, VA; Ronald Rosier (Gaynetta), Tallahassee, FL; Vickie Burch, Douglasville, GA; Jarvis Rosier (Mary), Tallahassee, FL; Alonzo Rosier (Angela), Fort Lauderdale, FL. He is also survived by two Sisters-in-Law, Verna Swann and Sadie Rivers of Niantic, CT; two Brothers-in-Law John White and Howard (Gwen) White, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and one special God Brother, Larry Lewis of New London, CT.
Viewing/service hours will take place on Thursday April 26, 2012, from 6 – 8pm, at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 181 Ocean Avenue, New London, CT. Burial will be private.
