Sad to say, I didn't have the pleasure of meeting him, but to have such a caring and wonderful family, Alonso must have been a great man. I'm sure he will be greatly missed.  My condolences to the Calix clan on his passing.

Heartfelt sympathies and prayers go out to the entire Calix family.  We all grew up as children together, with all the parties and dances at the Rivergate, all the boy cousins would take turns dancing with us... we were always partying together!  We are so sorry for your loss, I was closest in age to Lali, and I knew Alonso was as sweet and generous as the entire family was.  We will miss his tender soul, Rest in Peace dear Alonso!

Alonso and his wonderful wife, Theresa have always been there for us as far as I can remember.  Millie and I were married in 1976 and the next month we were on our way to England, courtesy of the USAF.  After settling in, and many nights of Millie crying from being away from home the first time, we packed up and drove to RAF Mildenhall to visit Alonso and Theresa.  Knowing we had close friends just a few hours away made life so more comforting.  We met up again several years later in Germany.  After we both retired from the USAF, we were able to join up in comradery in the VFW Post 3267.  Alonso, you will truly be missed at every VFW meeting and every Mardi Gras.

From all of us here at Northcoast fitness tech we are deeply sorry for your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you travel this difficult road, and hope that you find comfort in your time of need. May you find strength and peace in all of the happy memories.

I worked with Alonso for many years at Morgan Buildings. He was a great man. He would always help you no matter what the situation was. I was shocked to hear about this. My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family at this time. I will never forget him and will always remember him in my prayers. There will never be another Alonso. I cannot say enough about this great man--------!

I spent a few hours with Alonso at dinner at Deanies in the Quarter October 28th. Tony Touchard and his cousin George were there too. We had a great time! I'll miss Alonso. He was a good husband, father and friend. R.I.P. my friend.
