

Eiola Campora Martinez was born on August,1915. On Sunday, December 30 at 10:00 am, she went to her eternal rest. She was preceded in death by her spouse of 62 years, Benedict Martinez. Eiola and Benedict had three children, Benedict, Jr., (deceased),(Marilyn) Sr. Ann Martinez, MSC, and Kenneth Martinez (Pat)).
Also predeceased by her parents Matteo and Angelina Pisani Campora and siblings, John, Vincent, and Albert Campora, Antoinette Kreeger, Gladys Kuss, Mary Billodoux, Margaret Hallessy, and Rose Catanzaro.
Survived by grandchildren Lisa Marshall, Christie Susslin, William Martinez, Kenneth Martinez, Jr., Susan deBoisblanc, great grandchildren, Jamie Rabalais, Joey Marshall, Marissa and Abigail Martinez, Jacob Martinez, Hannah Susslin, Charlie, Joshua, Ben, and John Paul deBoisblanc, and great-great grandchildren Mia and Jace Rabalais.
Mrs. Martinez was a child of Sicilian immigrants. She had an ear for music and played the piano from early on. She was a no- nonsense go-getter with a spirited personality, and deep spirituality.
She was a long time parishioner of Sts. Peter and Paul Church, and more recently a member of ST. Maria Goretti Parish.
Eiola will be fondly remembered by all for her devotion to family, church, and for her "can do" approach to life.
The family would like to thank the staff of Chateau de Notre Dame, especially her friend and care-giver Ms. Lou Santee. Services will be at Jacob Schoen on Canal Street on Wednesday, January 2, from noon until 2 pm when there will be Mass.
