Gerald Joseph Manuel Sr

Gerald Joseph Manuel, Sr. passed away Sunday September 1, 2013 at the age of 66 with his loved ones at his side. He is the cherished father of Kim Manuel Cavalier and Gerald “Jay” Manuel Jr and father in law of Daina Blanda Manuel. He is also survived by his four loving grandchildren Zachary and Taylor Cavalier and Hayden and Bryson Manuel. He was born in Cottonport, LA in 1947. He was preceded in death by his parents L.V. Manuel and Rita Manuel and by his siblings Cynthia Manuel Laborde and Mark Manuel. His favorite times were spent outdoors and he enjoyed spending this time with his children and grandchildren. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. The family would like to express sincere thanks to the Ochsner Slidell Hospital ICU staff and physicians who took such great care of him every step of the way. All family, friends, employees and customers of Eagle Packing Company are invited to the visitation Thursday, September 5th beginning at 9:00 AM followed with a Funeral Mass at 12:00 noon in the chapel of Jacob Schoen and Son Funeral Home, 3827 Canal Street, interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery, New Orleans.
