Salvador Joseph Giardina

Salvador Joseph “Sam” or “Sal” Giardina, age 83, entered Eternal Rest on May 26, 2013. A native of New Orleans and resident of LaPlace for the past 17 years. Son of the late Joseph Giardina and Rosalie Ragusa Giardina; beloved husband of Betty Howat Giardina, would have been Married 65 years on June12, 2013. Loving father of Salvador(Sal) Giardina Jr., Christine Giardina Schultz (Dr. Stuart Schultz Jr.), and Michael (Mike) Giardina. Brother of Joseph Giardina(Josie), Philip Giardina and sister MaryAnn Giardina Wells(late Al Wells) of Hot springs, Ark. Survived by loving grandsons Stuart Schultz III(Shannon) of Fort Worth, TX and Ashton Schultz of Scottsdale, AZ and many nieces and nephews as well as great grandsons Harrison Schultz and August Schultz of Fort worth, TX.

Sal was founder and owner of Sal’s Plumbing and Heating. Member of the Cefalutana Society and The Greater New Orleans Italian Cultural Society. Special thanks to friends Larry and Patsy Thom and caregivers Jessie Ellis and Myo of St. Joseph Hospice.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Jacob Schoen & Son Funeral Home on Friday May 31 at 1:30 pm, visitation beginning at 11:30am. There will be a night wake on Thursday May 30 beginning at 6:00pm and until 8:00pm. Interment will be at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery #1.
