Samuel Springer

Sam E. Springer passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2011. Born in Edgewood, Pennsylvania February 18, 1924 to Boyce Jones Springer and Harrison Morton Springer. Sam was a lab medical tech in the Army during WWII, he graduated in 1948 from the University of Pittsburgh as a petroleum engineer and then married Frances Carol Crouse September 2, 1948. He enjoyed music, attending the New Orleans Symphony for the last 35 years; in retirement he and Fran enjoyed traveling throughout Europe. Sam is preceded in death by his beloved wife Francis Crouse Springer and son Michael Edward Springer. He is survived by his children, Jonathan P. Springer his wife Patricia M. Springer, Steven R. Springer his wife Vertelee V. Springer and daughter-in-law Kim Springer. Grandchildren Elizabeth Bevin Springer, Samantha Kathleen Springer, Steven Jared Springer, Clare Springer Wiegand and her husband Stephen, Timothy Patrick Springer, Anne Catherine Springer and Michael Edward Springer engaged to Christina Gibby and their son, Prestin.
